My current reading selection, which typically spans several books of
several genres. Some books can take many months for me to finish. Which
books I read is influenced by my fluctuating interest on the topic, and
the "density" of the writing versus how interested or tired I
am.

- The Penguin Guide to Finance - Hugo
Dixon
- Available from amazon.co.uk,
not available in US or Canada as far as I can tell. Written by FT
business journalist Hugo Dixon, it is fun and easy to read. Which is
pretty impressive for a gentle introduction to micro and macro
economics.
- Hacking Exposed: Network Security Secrets & Solutions, 3rd edition
(2001) - Stuart McClure, Joel Scambray, George Kurtz
- I'm almost embarrassed to admit to owning this book, I have
avoided the previous editions based on its cover which is bright red with
the title in huge black letters. The contents are not so bad, and I am
learning from Hacking Exposed, but it does leave a fair bit to be desired,
it focuses more on exploits than solutions, but at least I am getting a
better picture of what are common tactics.
- The Design of Everyday Things - Donald
Norman
- Cryptography: Theory and Practice -
Douglas
R. Stinson
