Security Engineering - a Guide to Building Dependable Distributed Systems - Ross Anderson
If you manage, design or implement security systems, you need to read this book. Most of its contents are not covered elsewhere, and that is why too many projects fail. They fail to protect the right things, or against the wrong threats. Ross Anderson also gives a taste of his current direction of research which is related the economics of security and insecurity. Anderson's prose are very readable and I hope the current and new generations of programmers and analysis read this book.
